What a great message. Sadly, I think too many people prefer the filler though. I quit paying for streaming platforms a few years back so I could be more intentional about what I watch and do with my free time in general. I also didn't want to feed the Amazon/Netflix/Disney machines that exploited and made insane profits off of the lockdowns. People act like I'm crazy for what I've done. "But what do you watch at night???" I think we've gone way too far down the rabbit hole with technology that it scares a lot of people to consider a life without some form of it.
I don't know if you heard about the major cell phone outage we had here in the southern US a couple months ago. Verizon, AT&T, and one of the other major carriers went down for something like 18 hours. No cell phone service or internet on people's smartphones. Naturally, everyone panicked, worried about what they were gonna do if it didn't come back. Those rushes on the store for toilet paper in 2020 were nothing compared to what will happen if people lose their smartphones or internet.
It took. It uploaded successfully. Favorite songs have a way of transporting us back to memories. It triggers the imagination. A mental escape if you will. Grateful the goons haven’t tried to take that away from us yet. Cynical me says that’s probably because there is still too much money to be made still. The best Metallica is the early stuff with Cliff Burton. Never the same after he was gone. Even we here in central Illinois got to see the northern lights. Wild. Not as good as the eclipse last month, but wild nonetheless.
