In light of the likely implementation of a universal charging plan for all users on the X platform, will this be a bridge too far for many that’s actually a blessing in disguise?
I've been trying to sound the alarm about the dangers of the everything app and Musk for a couple years now. People don't want to hear it. I was alarmed at how many people got the blue check and how many people became paid subscribers of Musk's account. He literally showed up in our feeds whether we wanted him to or not. There was no reason for anyone to give him money for that.
I really hope you're right about there being an exodus. But too many people need a savior. And even though they're awake enough to see that there are no saviors in government, they look to people like Elon Musk to save them. They'll justify this cost the way they did the blue check.

In terms of the exodus, time will tell but even greater than the need for a saviour, people need their dopamine hits above all, and its that perceived feel good rush that has embedded itself into the heads of millions that will ultimately be the downfall of millions. And if they can retain it for a few dollars a month, it's justifiable. Each to their own but I'm not partaking.
You’re 100% right about the dopamine hit. I quit Twitter a few months ago and it was kinda rough the first couple days. My hand would automatically type Twitter.com into the browser whenever I was bored or antsy. The feeling eventually went away thank goodness. It’s terrible how these social media platforms weaponize the worst parts of ourselves against us.

I'm sure as many people leave Twitter/X for other platforms the imminent Online Safety Act will render things fruitless with its Orwellian clampdown on freedom of speech and 'legal but harmful' content.
I don't have an account but used to look through it a few times a week until you couldn't do that without logging in. I don't miss it at all. Musk says exactly what he wants X to be like so I'm totally out.
